Recognizing and Avoiding Adulterated Product
The real danger in kratom isn't the plant—it's adulteration. Here's how to identify contaminated products before they harm you.
🚨 Known Adulterants
Fentanyl
Found in "enhanced" kratom powders. Lethal dose: 2mg. Symptoms: immediate sedation, pinpoint pupils, respiratory depression. If suspected, administer naloxone immediately.
O-Desmethyltramadol
Synthetic opioid added to "kratom" products in Sweden (2009) causing 9 deaths. Creates unnatural sedation and euphoria. Lab testing required to detect.
Synthetic 7-OH
Isolated 7-hydroxymitragynine (not plant-derived). Potent but unpredictable. Avoid "extracts" over 50% concentration.
Safety Checklist

- ✅ Verify batch-specific COAs
- ✅ Avoid "enhanced," "super," or "extract" powders
- ✅ Test new batches with 0.5g dose first
